The French term bohémien was used for the first time in the nineteenth century to describe the unconventional lifestyle of marginalized and impoverished artists, writers, musicians and actors of major European cities. The Bohémiens,or simply Bohème (although, more precisely, the latter term would indicate the style of life of such artists, while the former actually identifies those who practice it), have been associated with an unorthodox and unconditional political point of view. This current was often expressed through extra-matrimonial sexual relations, frugality and “voluntary poverty“. In the countries of South America they were, usually, the sons of the richest families in the nation who tended to become poor and addicted to alcohol to faithfully copy their European inspirers. The term emerged in France in the nineteenth century, when artists and poets began to concentrate in the slums and smaller classes of the gypsy quarter. It was in fact a mistaken popular belief (prevalent in France) that the gypsies came from Bohemia, a region of the current Czech Republic: hence the term bohemian (literally, “Bohemian”).
The bohemian style takes inspiration from gypsies and hippies, traveling with everything they owned they tried to dress in layers to cover themselves from the cold.
all this, however, combined with the “chic”, characterized by hats, bijoux and often also by the use of eco-furs. Freedom and lightness are the two guidelines of the movement that’s why the bohemian clothes must have soft lines and make you feel comfortable.
Hair style for this look: long and soft waves. If you have naturally wavy hair, then you just have to wash it and let it dry in the air. Apply a nut of mousse when they are moist. If they are not moved, you can still have soft waves applying a little ‘mousse and / or texturizing spray before drying them with the diffuser. When you dry the hair with the diffuser, stand upside down and adjust the hair dryer to emit a jet of cold air. When drying, “curl” them with your hands to promote the formation of waves. If you have straight hair do not despair: even the long and smooth hair are perfect for the bohemian style.
Make up: simply naturally
the bohemian style has its essence in respect of nature so prefer native fabrics to synthetic ones, like cotton dresses.
shoes: ethnic sandals, ankle boots and cowboy style boots, all strictly in leather or in leather and in natural colors: brown or beige. Those who prefer can choose good quality faux leather shoes, the final effect will be the same.In winter, ankle boots and camperos are suitable to match even under long and wide dresses.
Personally, I made attempts trying different shoes but I remain for his more natural combination. In fact as you could see below I try hells and sneakers but as you could see they are not a perfect match for this style,
